Police ordered to crackdown on drugs & crimes

Tiran Alles, the minister of public security, gave a specific directive to the Sri Lanka Police ordering them to severly suppress drug trafficking and criminal activity throughout the nation.

The order was given during a special meeting that was conducted on Friday, February 26, in the morning in Colombo.

Senior police personnel, including Senior DIG Ajith Rohana in command of the Southern Province and Deshbandu Thennakoon, DIG in charge of the Western Province, were present at this meeting.

The Minister reportedly gave the Top Brass specific orders to use all necessary force to combat drug trafficking and other organized crime, according to the Sri Lankan Police.
