The Minister of Agriculture Mahinda Amaraweera has proposed to the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) to allow traders to sell an egg for Rs.50/-.
The Minister said that it will be decided after an inquiry into product prices.
Recently, an extraordinary gazette was issued imposing a control price per egg of Rs. 43 – 45/-.
However, an egg is still sold for over Rs.60/- in the market. – News 1st
