A 26-year-old man from Mattakkuliya was gunned down by motorcycle gunmen in Mattakkuliya on Monday (29) night.
Sri Lanka Police said that the motorcycle gunmen had entered the Aliwatte area, in Mattakkuliya and opened fire at the victim using a pistol.
The man who was seriously injured was rushed to the Colombo National Hospital, and he died while receiving treatment.
Police suspect that the shooting could be the result of a dispute between criminal gangs dealing in drugs and organied crimes. – Newsfirst
